Dr. Jian Wu has spent more than two decades at the intersection of U.S. and Chinese higher education. Born and educated in China before completing her PhD at Michigan State University, she understands firsthand the challenges, aspirations, and questions that Chinese families face when navigating the American university admissions process.
After completing her doctorate, Dr. Wu worked within U.S. university systems, gaining an insider's perspective on what selective admissions committees truly value in applicants. She witnessed brilliant students from China who were passed over simply because they didn't know how to present themselves effectively in the American system — and she decided to change that.
In 2008, Dr. Wu founded Keystone Consulting LLC with a singular mission: to give every student the same guidance that students with privileged access to U.S. advisors receive. Since then, she has personally guided over 500 students to admission at top universities — with a 100% success rate.
Dr. Wu's approach is deeply personal. She believes that every student has a unique story worth telling, and that the college application process, when done well, is an opportunity for self-discovery — not just a bureaucratic hurdle. She treats every student as if they were her own child.
Fluent in both English and Mandarin, Dr. Wu is available via WeChat for families in mainland China, ensuring that distance and time zones are never a barrier to first-class advising.
Perhaps the most personal testament to her methods: Dr. Wu began guiding her own son through the admissions process starting in middle school, applying the same personalized roadmap she builds for every Keystone student. In 2022, he was admitted to UCLA as a Computer Science major — and has since gone on to intern at both Amazon and Google as a software engineer.
